Yesterday I wore my black boots to work. They’re knee high boots with a two and a half inch heel. I’ve worn them throughout my pregnancy without any issue… then came the swollen marshmallow toes. I don’t know if it was something I ate, but my toes, feet, ankles, calves; they blew up yesterday. It was so uncomfortable after lunch that I had to take my boots off (along with my socks) and walk around the office in my bare feet. I went to my aunt Wendy’s for dinner in Almonte and I had to drive there in… my bare feet. It was that uncomfortable. They got so big I wasn’t sure if they were ever going to return to their regular size. Luckily the swelling did go down overnight. Just in case though, I wore sandals today.

I recall that very well. I wore sandals with a velcrop top so I could adjust for the last 4 weeks of my pregnancy. I bet a pedicure would do those feet good. :)

That reminds me of my friend, who is actually due today. Her feet were so swollen she had, (and yes my husband just had to point this out)Cankles! I felt bad for her feet, but then I remebered that when I was pregnant it was the middle of winter and I had to suffer in winter boots.... I didn't feel that bad for her anymore LOL.
ReplyDeletewait till they give you saleen in the hospital..you wont even recognize yourself!
ReplyDeleteMy feet were swollen swollen swwwolllllen!
I had kankles for a good few weeks....once it went down i felt like i was walking on toothpix hahahah
I feel for you and hope all goes well. I remember with my kids I lost sight of my feet for the last month of my pregnancies lol and it's not that I gained a lot of weight but my stomach went straight out lol. I also remember the swollen feet, not so fun but it does go away and you'll be back in those boots soon :)
ReplyDeleteProbably should stick to comfy shoes with good support from now on to avoid a repeat marshmellow episode :P
ReplyDeleteI had cankles from about 30 weeks on...I couldn't even get my feet into Sorel boots!!! A pedicure made them feel great, but sadly, the warm water/parrafin wax made them swell even more! About 1 week after birth, my tootsies returned to normal. Wear flip flops :)
ReplyDeleteJosie i want pics of you now hahahaha
ReplyDeleteI hate to break it to you Josie but your feet may never go back to their original pre-pregnancy size. I used to be a 7 1/2 or 8 and after my first baby (17 1/2 years ago!) I became more of an 8 - 8 1/2. You may have some shoes that you'll never get back into. But that's ok...just buy new shoes...every girl needs an excuse to buy new shoes right?
ReplyDeleteLiterally 2 weeks after you give birth..you'll be back to normal - well.. the swelling anyways.
ReplyDeleteJust wear flip flops at this point!
